When the days of my life, like the leaves of a book,
Have been turning, and turning, and turning too fast,
And the story is moving so swiftly apace,
I remember the treasures I knew in the past.
Treasures in attics, all covered with dust;
Cherished old keepsakes now tarnished with rust;
Yesterday's treasures have all passed away,
And the treasures to cherish are those of today.
